Our utmost priority at Untied Magazine is to deliver unique content to communities across North America as well as around the globe. We want to write about anything and everything. If you think that you have something that you need to say, we would love to discuss having you on our team!
If you are interested in joining us, send us an email at email@example.com. Please include information about your area(s) of interest, any links to solid stories you have written, a description of what you can bring to Untied and your contact information. We will reach out to you within 2-3 business days after reviewing your information. If we feel that it is necessary, we may ask you to write a sample story for us to review as well.
What you do
We want your voice to be heard. We do not have any restrictions in terms of length or voice. The article should be as long or short as the topic requires it to be. Untied is more concerned about finding perspectives and mindsets that differ and are respectable. Whether you want to write about the physics behind an episode of a science fiction television show, or the quality of a new tie, as long as you have something unique and worthwhile to contribute, the content is welcome!
If you make a claim in an article, be sure to cite. Be sure to provide sources and links back to any story quoted or referenced in the article. Any images or graphics used in the story must also be properly attributed. Basically, don’t be a jerk.
The ground rules
Like most other independent sites, writers contribute to Untied on a voluntary basis. We understand that people have lives, jobs and responsibilities. Your commitment level is up to you but, when a publishing frequency, date and time are agreed upon, it is expected that you live up to that commitment.
Writers submit articles to our content management system in advance of its publication. In addition to writing the article, you are responsible for filling out the title, category, tags and SEO sections of the post. Also, writers must provide at least one image for the story. The primary image will appear at the top of the story and be set to the featured image. The image must be a minimum of 600 pixels wide and be of landscape orientation.
Most importantly, don’t take Steve’s sandwich out of the fridge. He is really looking forward to eating it.
What we need
At the moment, Untied is looking for writers in the following areas:
- Video Games
- Politics (objective and unbiased or satirical or whatever really)
- Literature (that’s books, dummy, but if you need us to spell that out then maaaaybe we need to look elsewhere)
- Booze, beer, and all that jazz
- Fashion (we’ll take 5,000 words on the best sneakers if need be)
- Meat loaf (the food or the singer. your choice)
- Almost anything else you can think of
